What is Restylane? |

Restylane is a non-animal based hylauronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the human body, naturally giving fullness and volume in the skin. Restylane is a clear hyaluronic acid gel that is fully biocompatible with the hyaluronic acid already in your skin.

Is Restylane Safe? |

Restylane has been safely used by dermatologist and plastic surgeons worldwide since 1996. No allergy testing is required prior to treatment with Restylane. |

Restylane can be used to correct a variety of wrinkles, smile lines and creases. Also, Restylane may be used to add fullness and volume to the lips. The doctor can give you more specific guidance as to what parts of your face can best benefit from Restylane treatment during your consultation.

How long do treatments last? |

Restylane is carefully stabilized in order to maximize the lengths of the cosmetic effect, and studies have show that the results of Restylane generally last for about 6 months. Most patient's schedule Restylane treatments 2 or 3 times per year. |

Do I need to do anything special before the treatment? |
|
| |
There are no special tests required prior to treatment, however the use of aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications or other supplements that cause increased tendency of bleeding or bruising should be avoided for the 10-14 days prior to treatment. |

Is the injection painful? |
|
| |
The doctor uses topical and/or local anesthetic in order to minimize any discomfort during the treatment. Many patients say that they are surprised at how easy and simple the treatment process is.
